https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1X-QC88j1pBee04wzZGHo34NKR8FbCLZUAc0xa1CLSSM/edit

On this form you will indicate:

  • What size cast member shirt your performer needs (this is free!)

Costuming Update:

Here is the updated Costume Fittings schedule for this coming Saturday. Please note there’s a few changes so be sure to check your child’s time. Please also relay to your child that they will have a fitting so they know to find me and not to leave. December 16th Update

Nutcracker DVD order form

An Important note from Miss Nina & Miss Shelby

Hello ECPAC Families,

Miss Shelby is moving back to her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska in January.
If there is one thing we have learned during this pandemic it’s how to adapt and to figure out how to make things work.  Shelby LOVES her students and wants to continue to teach.  We are planning on having Miss Shelby teach some of her advanced classes via Zoom.  Studios across the country are running classes this way with much success, even my Gabby has a college dance class where the professor teaches via Zoom.  We are going to give it our best shot!

I have also hired a Ballet teacher with 20+ years of teaching experience.  We will be introducing her as soon as we have made final decisions on who will be teaching which classes.

Nutcracker will continue in 2021, Shelby and I are even discussing how she would still be able to direct remotely and travel in monthly!  Anything is possible!

We know the kids have had a lot of change recently, one thing will always remain the same, we will always be fully committed to finding adding teacher to our family who will help them reach their goals and we will always think outside the box to give them what they need.  They are loved!

As always, I am available to answer any questions you may have!

Nina

Hello ECPAC Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Recently Governor Newsome placed the majority of California back in the Purple Tier.  When we started our dance season in August were in the purple tier as well and the studio was still operating while diligently working to keep our dancers and staff safe and healthy.

We are proud to say we have been meeting (and exceeding!) the expectations for our business operations under our Safer Studio™ Standards.

  • We enforce proper masking for all dancers, staff, and visitors.
  • Health checks upon arrival
  • Our employees work from home whenever possible and are screened when they do come to the facility
  • Our enrollment has been carefully managed to reduced facility capacity.

Additionally, we are fully tech-enabled with online and virtual options for every class and rehearsal, attendance in our programs is limited by registration or reservation-only, our public areas such as our lobby remains closed to parents of older dancers.

Our strong focus on safety has made it possible to maintain the benefits that dance fosters for the whole health of the child – including physical, social-emotional and mental well-being – in a very low-risk environment. I am pleased to report that we have had over 10,000 studio visits since we reopened and 0 cases of covid from a student or staff member.

Yes, it’s been a fulltime effort to implement all of our safety measures, but what we are doing is working!

We are proud to continue to be a BRIGHT SPOT and a POSITIVE OUTLET in the lives of your children and we look forward to our next few weeks of programming before December Break.

In the meantime, please join us in doing all you can to keep our community safe by wearing face coverings, washing your hands, and staying home if you are unwell.

As always, your teachers and I thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Miss Nina Koch

11/18/20 updates

Did you miss the parent meeting last night?  Here is the recording

Only 4 more rehersals!  There are no Saturdays off between now and the show.  We have practice on Thanksgiving weekend.

It is very important that your dancer stay as quarentined as possible during these next few weeks.  If your dancer is exposed to covid 19 he or she will have to quarentine for 14 days, even if they have a negative covid test.  If your dancer is exposed close to show time that means he or she will have to be pulled from the show.  Please wear your masks and please encourage your dancers to make good choices.

In this final stretch attendance in their ballet classes is so important!  The show will only be as good as their technique!

Please come to the Point Shoe Decorating Party!

Congratulations to our 2020 Nutcracker Cast!

We are excited for you to join The Ballet Company in our 16th season of The Nutcracker.

Your dancer received their cast reveal yesterday and we are so excited to have them join us in this magical experience!

Rehearsal will begin Saturday, September 12th.

Please be sure to arrive 10 minutes early to your dancer’s rehearsal time. This will ensure they are ready to go with their ballet shoes on, proper ballet attire, clean bun and their things put away. DO NOT BE LATE! ARRIVE EARLY! The teachers only have 12 weeks with your dancers. Every minute counts. Most rehearsals start out only 30 minutes long, but as we progress you may want to bring them with a clean snack and water.

We enjoyed seeing all of your wonderful children at auditions, some new and some of our veterans. It is going to be a wonderful season! We would love to see your Nutcracker pictures over the next 12 weeks on social media. Please be mindful of your posts and respectful to the families that do not wish to have their dancers on social media.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

REHEARSAL FOR ALL STORYTELLER CAST DANCERS WILL BE 8-11 Please arrive 5-10 early.  It shows in your child when they arrive rushed and late. I will have the door open you are welcome to do a quick drop off if needed 🙂

StoryTeller dancers who are in Ballet 1-6 MUST bring a old Ballet costume to rehearsal THIS SATURDAY! This is critical.  The dancers must learn how to do quick changes.  It might even be a good idea for them to practice at home.  Sounds silly, but we would hate for them to miss their part the day of the show because they did not quickly change.  We will have helpers back stage, but they need to also need to know how to get from one costume for the next.

Bake Sale MONDAY APRIL 9TH. This will run the same as last time.  I will send sign up information later today. I will have posters for the dancers to make during rehearsal this Saturday! Looks like we will be rain free as well. WOOHOO! Please be sure to sign up as this will be one of your last opportunities to volunteer.

We are in need of a few props to be painted this Saturday.  Please email or text ASAP to let me know if you can help with this. 🙂

Information went home with your dancer regarding rehearsal day and show day.  Please be sure you read and let us know if you have questions.  There is no stupid questions.

Please save my phone number in your phone to use in the event you need to communicate with us dress rehearsal day or show day, as there will not be time for me to check my emails..  925-354-6497 🙂

See everyone Saturday!!!

Week two…Here we go!

Week one was great! Thank you for ensuring your dancers were on time and ready to go! Keep up the good work parents.

We know that it is still Flu season. Please make sure to keep your student home until they are symptom free for a full 24 hours. Feel free to send us an email so that we can let your child’s teacher know! Also please remind your child about the importance of hand washing!

VOLUNTEER HOURS  Please read carefully and all the way through

With the cast being on the smaller side, and so many of you being veterans (don’t worry newbies we got you) we are going to approach volunteer hours a bit differently.  As needs come up we will email out what is needed, time and duty.  If you are able to help please respond ASAP.  There is a chance 4 hours will not be needed from each family.  However, each family must help in some way.  Here is a list of examples that will be needed.  If something jumps out  please email balleteastcounty@gmail.com, letting us know.

  • Costumes
    • sizing (usually during rehearsal)
    • fitting (during rehearsal)
    • Can you sew? Let us know
    • light alterations

Another way is to section the ponytail and wrap each section VERY loosely or not at all and pinning. repeat wrapping each section around the previous on, similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwxxR6Jwlfk
