Our Parade crew will be led by Sidewalk Spectacular dancers and you’re invited to walk with us!

June 8th Update 

In-house Dress Rehearsal

 In Studio Dress Rehearsals begin Friday, June 10 & will run through Thursday, June 16.

Reminder, we are NOT running regular classes June 10th- June 16th. If your dancer is participating in recital they need to come to their scheduled inhouse dress rehearsal. (Share dress rehearsal link). If your dancer is NOT participating in recital, you can schedule a makeup class for the following week.

What is Dress Rehearsal? 

Dress rehearsal is for children participating in the Recital. 

– Come fully dressed in your costume 

– Take your photo with our professional photographer 

– Perform your routine

It’s a great “getting ready for the stage” practice!

In House Dress Rehearsal 

Friday, June 10- Thursday, June 16, we will not be holding our regular classes as we hold our in-house dress rehearsal for our recital. If your dancer is NOTparticipating in our recital, we invite them to join us for a makeup class. Those classes can be arranged by sending an email to eastcountypac@gmail.com

Dress Rehearsal:

For dress rehearsal, your dancer will have an opportunity to practice their dance in their costume with their classmates. They should come to dress rehearsal in their costumes as you would have them presented at recital. Tights, shoes, costume, hair done, etc. Your dancer will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken by a professional photographer in their costume.

March 2nd Update

Hello ECPAC Families

March 2020, right around this same time, our lives all changed. There were lots of adjustments, and lots of scrambling, but we made some pivots and figured it all out. We’ve danced online, we’ve danced in cohorts, we’ve danced in masks, we’ve danced in person 6 feet apart, but,  most importantly, we’ve danced.

I want to thank you all for your support over these past couple years. I know that the changes at times have been challenging. Throughout this entire ordeal my goal has been to be honest and forthcoming with you regarding any changes to our studio policies. From the beginning of the shut downs and mandates, we as a studio have not received much direction from local officials. We have looked to the school district as a guide through the unclear information. Yesterday, the Brentwood Union School District released info that they will most likely be moving to mask optional as of March 14th. We are taking our lead from our local school districts and are making the same adjustments. Effective Monday, March 14, 2022, masks will be optional within our studio. Dancers and staff that feel more comfortable wearing masks may continue to do so, and will be fully supported in their choice.  As always, if your dancer is feeling under the weather in any capacity, we ask that you keep them home. Zoom continues to be an option for any dancer that is unable to make it to class.

Our policies on COVID exposures and quarantine will remain the same. Our lobby is also open, so please pop in and say hello!

February 9th Update

Parking:

We understand that parking in our lot can sometimes feel like a premium. Here are some tips to make your trip in a little less frustrating:

– Arrive early!

– Drop off! If your dancer is comfortable coming into the studio alone feel free to drop them off. We promise we’ll take good care of them!

– Park on the street! There’s lots of street parking on Walnut.

– Park nextdoor! After 5 o’clock, you are welcome to park in the back of the lot next to us.

– Park in only one spot! We know that sounds silly, but sometimes friends unintentionally park in two spots. That’s one less spot for another dance friend!

– Please don’t park along the hedge! Our lot is long and lean, and while we would love to have additional parking spaces, parking at the hedge creates a one lane path and major headaches for everyone.

– Please don’t park and sit in the pickup and dropoff areas. Those areas should be kept fairly open as they are intended for quick pickup and dropoff.

– Please don’t park in handicapped spaces unless you are authorized to do so! Please don’t utilize these spaces for any reason unless you are authorized to use them. We have families that NEED those spaces.

– Please don’t make your own parking spots! We know it can be tempting, but making parking spots in spaces that aren’t spots creates horrible traffic, a backlog for everyone and makes it very challenging for drivers to see around their cars.

– Please don’t speed in the lot! We have lots of very important people walking through our lot. Please slow down and be mindful of those walking. We want to keep everyone safe!

January 12th Update 

Updated Covid-19 Protocols & Procedures 

Our exposure guidelines follows the guidance of the Contra Costa Department of Health

  • If a dancer has tested positive
    • We notify the class of a mask to mask exposure
    • We contact the student who has tested positive 
      • Who were they in contact with without a mask
      • We notify the parent of those dancers privately
      • The dancer who had unmasked contact will be asked to quarantine 
      • Quarantine time is 10 days without a test or
      • Dancer can test 5 days after exposure and return to class with a negative test on day 6
    • The entire class does not need to quarantine since it was a mask to mask exposure
    • If the exposed dancer(s) is fully vaccinated the exposed dancer does not need to quarantine
      • Fully vaccinated means having both shots and 2 weeks have passed since the last does.
  • If there is a family member at home who tests positive for covid- REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS
    • We do not notify the class
    • Exposed dancer must quarantine
      • Quarantine time is 10 days without a test or
      • Dancer can test 5 days after exposure and return to class with a negative test on day 6 as long as the dancer has not been in contact with the family member who tested positive during those 6 days.   If the dancer has been in contact then the dancer must quarantine for 10 days. 
    • When a dancer needs to quarantine the dancer should take class via zoom
  • If a teacher has tested positive 
    • We notify the class of a mask to mask exposure
      • The teacher will quarantine for 5 days and can test 5 days after exposure and return to class with a negative test on day 6
        • Teacher will zoom in to classes when appropriate and have subs when appropriate.  
    • The class does not need to quarantine since it is a mask to mask exposure
  • If a teacher or staff member has been exposed, but does not test positive
    • We do not notify the class
    • If the teacher or staff member is vaccinated and the exposure was not from someone in their household he/she does not need to quarantine.  If the exposure is from someone in their household please follow the rules for unvaccinated exposure.
    • If the teacher of staff member is not vaccinated he/she must quarantine
      • Quarantine time is 10 days without a test or
      • Teacher can test 5 days after exposure and return to class with a negative test on day 6 as long as the dancer has not been in contact with the family member who tested positive. If the teacher has been in contact the quarantine time is 10 days.
    • Teacher will zoom in to classes when appropriate and have subs when appropriate.

Studio Closed

The studio is closed December 20- January 9. We will reopen for classes on Monday, January 10, 2022.

LITTLE STARS DETAILS:

We are so excited to have your families join us this Sunday for our Little Stars Show. Please read the following information and specific details below:

For performers in show 1, please arrive by 10:00 AM for check in. For show 2, please arrive by 12:00 PM. 

We will have a check in table for last names A-L and one for last names M-Z. Your dancer will receive a lanyard for each dance that they are participating in. We will also be placing a small 1 or 2 on the parent who drops off your dancer’s hand. This number will indicate which side of the stage you will be picking your dancer up from. (There will be large signs, this will make sense at the venue) Dancers will then go backstage by class with their teachers and helpers. Each class has a minimum of TWO helpers. We will have coloring pages and crayons, holiday books, small stuffed animals and activities to keep your children happy and entertained. Dancers will perform and then wait backstage with their class. We are unable to release dancers before the end of the show. Once all classes have performed, all dancers will join us on stage for a special surprise performance! Dancers will be dismissed from the stage. There will be large signs with a 1 or a 2 on them. You will then send ONE family member to that part of the stage to retrieve your dancer. Please do not attempt to take photos from the stage. We need to empty the theater as quickly as possible.

– Dancers MUST wear masks backstage. They will be removing masks for their performance and putting them back on. If you prefer to have your dancer wear their mask on stage, please let us know.

– All guests must wear masks.

– Please do not send your dancer with extra stuff. The show is not long. They should not need snacks or other ‘things’. If you would like to send them with water, please consider using a plastic disposable bottle that you won’t need back.

– Dancers should arrive in their full costume with their hair done with dance shoes on their feet. 

– There is absolutely NO flash photography.

– You are welcome to record your dancers’ performance and take photos. We just ask that you are courteous to the other guests and make sure you are not obstructing their view.

If your dancer is under 5, and you feel they might have difficulties leaving you, please let us know. We have limited space for helpers backstage, but we want to make this a positive experience for everyone. We will do our very best to make room for anyone that would like to help backstage.

Dance Dollars Fun!

Our dance dollar program is going strong, we’re loving seeing the dancers get so excited for this additional way to keep them motivated! In October we added a special item to “purchase” which was a hit, so have your dancer be on the lookout for a special November “stuffed prize” addition too! 

Reminder: Dance Dollars are awarded in class to students for many reasons…wearing the proper dance attire, good attendance, great teamwork, demonstrating kindness, just to name a few!  These dollars can then be saved and used to purchase items from our Dance Dollar bins with assistance our teacher assistants, teacher or front desk!

*Dance dollars have no monetary value and can not be used for anything other then prizes offered. If lost they won’t be replaced.

Student of the Month:

Each month we choose dancers to receive a Student of the Month Award! Congratulations to Kennedy Seipel & Avery Scalise! Be sure to see Lauren at the front desk to get your picture taken for our board and to receive your 5 dance dollars! 

ECPAC Oct & Nov Staff of the Month:

October was a short month but she still deserves a shout out – Congrats to Victoria, our family services manager, on being our October Staff of the Month recipient! Your work ethic, dedication to our dancers and families never goes unnoticed! Did you know Victoria not only teaches and leads our Jr Faculty team but also makes the dance wear available in the lobby? We love her many talents! We loved seeing her leading our Jr Faculty in this weekend’s Liberty Homecoming parade! 

Congrats to Ryann, our competition co-director, on being our November Staff of the Month recipient! We love how much joy Ryann brings to our dancers and how she connects to each and every one on a personal level. Not only does she always provide award winning choreography to our dancers and works hard behind the scenes for competitions but she cares about them even more! We appreciate what she brings to our dance studio, and we hope you do too!

Ballet Test

Ballet Vocabulary Testing for Ballet 1-5 begins Monday, October 25. Dancers will be tested on their vocabulary words at their level. Lists were given out to dancers weeks ago.

October 13th Update

Welcome back! We hope you all had a fun or relaxing week off. We are so excited to see all of our dancers back in class. Many of our 7 & under classes will begin learning choreography for their little stars performance in December. Even if you dancer is not performing with us in this years little stars theater performance they are still

Dress Code:

Each class has a dress code, which allows for your dancer & their teacher to be successful this season. Without proper class attire, it makes it hard for your dancers teacher to be able to properly asses and help your dancer in class. 

Hair should always be pulled away from your dancers face.

ALL Ballet dancers should have a bun.

NO JEANS are allowed in any style of class. 

Bitty Ballet: Girls: lights Pink or Black Leotard, Pink or Tan tights, Ballet shoes (not the satin slippers available in retail stores)tutus are allowed but may need to be removed if they become distracting in class for your dancer. 

Boys: Black athletic shorts, white t-shirt, black ballet shoes 

Building Ballet: Black Leotard, Pink or Tan tights, Ballet shoes (not the satin slippers available in retail stores)

WELCOME!!!!! We are so excited to see all of our New & Returning dancers who will be helping us celebrate our 20th Dance Season with us here at East County Performing Arts Center!!!

If you are new this is where you will find ALL of our WEEKLY studio updates!

Dress Code:

Each class has a dress code, which allows for your dancer & their teacher to be successful this season. Without proper class attire, it makes it hard for your dancers teacher to be able to properly asses and help your dancer in class.

Hair should always be pulled away from your dancers face. ALL Ballet dancers should have a bun.

NO JEANS are allowed in any style of class.

Bitty Ballet: Girls: lights Pink or Black Leotard, Pink or Tan tights, Ballet shoes (not the satin slippers available in retail stores)tutus are allowed but may need to be removed if they become distracting in class for your dancer.

Boys: Black athletic shorts, white t-shirt, black ballet shoes

Building Ballet: Black Leotard, Pink or Tan tights, Ballet shoes (not the satin slippers available in retail stores)

Ballet Levels 1-6: Appropriate colored Leotard (see below), Pink or Tan tights, Ballet shoes

  • Recital tickets are available for purchase. You may stop by the desk or send an email to eastcountypac@gmail.com  Families are able to purchase up to 7 tickets for our Monday- Friday recitals and up to 5 tickets for our Saturday Showcase.

  • Please have your dancer at the studio on Saturday, June 19th by 4 o’clock. We would like to give dancer’s the opportunity to dance together on stage.

  • Ballet 3 and up- Dancers are to wear their class colored leotard. We have black ballet skirts for them

  • Recital tickets are available for purchase. You may stop by the desk or send an email to eastcountypac@gmail.com  Families are able to purchase up to 7 tickets for our Monday- Friday recitals and up to 5 tickets for our Saturday Showcase.
  • The recital schedule is posted Here -Click Here- for Recital schedule as well as inside the studio.
  • Please do NOT be late for your dancer’s performance. We will NOT be able to wait for families that come late.

  • Recital costumes are going home this week! If you were unable to pick up your dancer’s costume please email the studio to arrange pickup.
  • Parking is going to be limited. Please be prepared to park in the city parking lot around the corner or in the garage downtown. You are also invited to park next door towards the back of their lot.

SHOWCASE Specific:

  • Please have your dancer at the studio on Saturday, June 19th by 4 o’clock. We would like to give dancer’s the opportunity to dance together on stage.
  • Ballet 1- Has a costume
  • Ballet 2- Has a costume
  • Ballet 3 and up- Dancers are to wear their class colored leotard. We have black ballet skirts for them
  • Contemporary 1- Has a costume
  • Contemporary 2 and up- Dancers are to wear all black
  • Hair for all dances will be in a bun
  • Families are able to purchase tickets to ONE performance. Dancers will perform in BOTH performances.
  • Performances are at 6 and 7:30
  • Dancers may come with a CLEAN snack and water. Please do NOT send your dancer with any snacks or drinks that could stain a costume or make me cry.
  • Show order will be sent  out ASAP

TA & JR FACULTY

all members of TA and JR Faculty who have current recreational (academy) classes they are working with during the week are expected to be at their scheduled class time for recital week.  The schedule is in newsletter and posted in studio. Any questions please let Miss Lori know.

Who is participating?

Ballet 1- (wearing costume)

Ballet 2- (wearing costume)

Ballet 3-6 in ballet uniform with black ballet skirt (it’s coming)

Contemporary 1- (wearing costume)

Contemporary 2-4 – wearing black dancewear

Tickets are $10 and limited to 5 tickets per family.  If there are more available we will also sell them at the door. 

The show profits will go to college scholarships for our graduating seniors.

We will also be accepting additional donations that will go to the seniors.

Dress Code & Reminders

Please remember the importance of appropriate DRESS CODE in all of your dancers classes. This includes ALL Academy & Competitive classes. Here are a few reminders.

For all dancers taking ballet

Whether you are on Zoom or taking in-class, please have an appropriate leotard, tights and ballet shoes with your hair in a bun. You are ballet dancers wherever you are.

Warms are acceptable, but must be form fitting, and may not stay on for the duration of the whole class. 

For our zoom students and their parents:

1) Please make sure each student has something that can be used as a ballet barre. A chair or a stepladder works well. Barres are used for balance and to maintain balance so the dancer can work on technical skills. When the dancer is not using a barre they give up straight legs, heels down to the floor, and leg strength to try to maintain their balance. We have time away from the barre for this.

2) Please make sure there is adequate space to dance with minimal distractions.

We have seen cleared out entryways, living rooms and even kitchens work great. Please try not to have the TV on in the same room.

Dress Code & Reminders

Please remember the importance of appropriate DRESS CODE in all of your dancers classes. This includes ALL Academy & Competitive classes. Here are a few reminders.

For all dancers taking ballet

Whether you are on Zoom or taking in-class, please have an appropriate leotard, tights and ballet shoes with your hair in a bun. You are ballet dancers wherever you are.

For our zoom students and their parents:

1) Please make sure each student has something that can be used as a ballet barre. A chair or a stepladder works well. Barres are used for balance and to maintain balance so the dancer can work on technical skills. When the dancer is not using a barre they give up straight legs, heels down to the floor, and leg strength to try to maintain their balance. We have time away from the barre for this.

2) Please make sure there is adequate space to dance with minimal distractions.

We have seen cleared out entryways, living rooms and even kitchens work great. Please try not to have the TV on in the same room.

An Important note from Miss Nina & Miss Shelby

Hello ECPAC Families,

Miss Shelby is moving back to her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska in January.  
If there is one thing we have learned during this pandemic it’s how to adapt and to figure out how to make things work.  Shelby LOVES her students and wants to continue to teach.  We are planning on having Miss Shelby teach some of her advanced classes via Zoom.  Studios across the country are running classes this way with much success, even my Gabby has a college dance class where the professor teaches via Zoom.  We are going to give it our best shot!  

I have also hired a Ballet teacher with 20+ years of teaching experience.  We will be introducing her as soon as we have made final decisions on who will be teaching which classes.

Nutcracker will continue in 2021, Shelby and I are even discussing how she would still be able to direct remotely and travel in monthly!  Anything is possible!

We know the kids have had a lot of change recently, one thing will always remain the same, we will always be fully committed to finding adding teacher to our family who will help them reach their goals and we will always think outside the box to give them what they need.  They are loved!

December 2nd Update

Hello ECPAC Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!  
 
Recently Governor Newsome placed the majority of California back in the Purple Tier.  When we started our dance season in August were in the purple tier as well and the studio was still operating while diligently working to keep our dancers and staff safe and healthy.  
 
We are proud to say we have been meeting (and exceeding!) the expectations for our business operations under our Safer Studio™ Standards.
 
  • We enforce proper masking for all dancers, staff, and visitors.
  • Health checks upon arrival
  • Our employees work from home whenever possible and are screened when they do come to the facility
  • Our enrollment has been carefully managed to reduced facility capacity.
 
Additionally, we are fully tech-enabled with online and virtual options for every class and rehearsal, attendance in our programs is limited by registration or reservation-only, our public areas such as our lobby remains closed to parents of older dancers.
 
Our strong focus on safety has made it possible to maintain the benefits that dance fosters for the whole health of the child – including physical, social-emotional and mental well-being – in a very low-risk environment. I am pleased to report that we have had over 10,000 studio visits since we reopened and 0 cases of covid from a student or staff member.
 
Yes, it’s been a fulltime effort to implement all of our safety measures, but what we are doing is working!
 
We are proud to continue to be a BRIGHT SPOT and a POSITIVE OUTLET in the lives of your children and we look forward to our next few weeks of programming before December Break.
 
In the meantime, please join us in doing all you can to keep our community safe by wearing face coverings, washing your hands, and staying home if you are unwell.

The show must go on and preparation for our June 2021 Recital is underway! Our costume orders are below. 

1st deadline December 2nd– Option to pay in full or 1st Installment due

  • Nov 8 cast members will be able to purchse the remaining tickets

With every friend who comes to class and turns in a completed invitation, your family will get entered into a drawing for a FREE month of tuition! Please only bring 1 friend per class, to help us continue to keep our classes safe & socially distanced. You can bring a new friend each week, for the whole month os september. 

With every friend who enrolls you get a $50 account credit!  Make sure they mention your name!

Little Stars Show Information (dancers 2-7)

It’s that time again! Little Stars planning has begun and we’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting our Little Stars Show Sunday, December 6th, hereat the studio. 

Dancers will get to perform on stage with their class It’s an exclusive performance for their immediate family members only. We will stream the show for extended family and friends to watch at home.

Virtual classes/dancers will have the option to perform their dance solo on stage, with a private performance for their immediate family members (max of up to 5 family members). 

The entire Little Stars Show will be streamed for extended family and friends to watch from home. 

You need to fill out the Little Stars Costume Order Completely (ORDERS DUE 9/25). Your card on file will be Charged 10/1 for this costume. All accounts must be current with payment on file in order for us to process your order.

Bring a Friend to Dance MONTH

With every friend who comes to class and turns in a completed invitation, your family will get entered into a drawing for a FREE month of tuition! Please only bring 1 friend per class, to help us continue to keep our classes safe & socially distanced. You can bring a new friend each week, for the whole month os september. 

With every friend who enrolls you get a $50 account credit!  Make sure they mention your name!

Parking Information & Reminders

We know that parking can sometimes be a struggle, but we’ve got some tips to help ease the pain!

  • Utilize the curb between suites B and C to drop off and pick up students.Park in the lot. Don’t forget the spots towards the back of our space!There’s lots of great street parking on Walnut.We’re able to park in the lot next to us, on the other side of the hedges. PLEASE WAIT UNTIL AFTER 4 PM.Don’t forget about the public lot and parking structure down Oak and across from the library.

REMINDERS:

  • Please do NOT park along the hedge. It makes the lot too tight.Please do NOT park along the curb. That space should be for dropping off and picking up only.PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY. There is lots of activity happening in our lots with lots of little friends going to and from classes. Please drive cautiously!

Welcome back to our 2020/2021 Season! Wa are SO excited to see all of our returning dancers & we are extremely ecstatic to meet all of our new students in person and virtually!

A Note from Miss Nina

Hello ECPAC Family!

Classes start on Aug 3rd and we could not be more excited!  We’re offering all of our classes both in-person and virtual, and this year all of our classes will be recorded so if your dancer misses class he/she can participate at home by watching the recording! 

Did you know we are a licensed More Than Just Great Dancing™ studio?  That means we are committed to a higher standard of teaching and best business practices.  That also means that our teachers and staff are CPR and first aid certified, background checked, and we follow the Safer Studio Guidelines™ for health and safety standards. New this season we are also now a Tech-Enabled Studio™We are committed to the wellness of your child.  Dance, tumbling/acro, and theater classes promote a healthy mind, body, and heart!  To make it possible for our dancers to come back into the studio we have ramped up all of our safety protocols. Here are some examples of how we are keeping our dancers and their families’ health and safety a top priority.Safety Protocols:
